The new model from the Czech auto constructor, Skoda Rapid Spaceback is a version adapted to the traffic needs of the Western roads yet there are people who consider it to be Fabia’s successor rather than a new model. So is Rapid Spaceback a break version for Rapid or is a successor for Fabia?
Skoda Rapid rivals in the compact segment and although it is equipped with hayon it rivals with other cars from the sedan class. Unfortunately the Western market is recently keen on Hatchbacks rather than sedans. This is the exact reason why Skoda officials want to adapt to the market demands and presented at the Frankfurt Auto Show this year a car that si suitable for the demands of the Western traffic. Below you will see the first official images of Skoda Fabia Spaceback. Although the name Spaceback might lead you into thinking it is a break unit, the car is more of a hatchback resembling to the model of its cousin Audi A3 Sportback. In comparison to the normal Rapid the Spaceback is 18 Cm shorter having 4,3 meters with 5 Cm more than Volkswagen Golf. Although it can be considered a small class car, Spaceback wants to be an alternative for the current sedan compact class models. In comparison to Skoda Fabia, Spaceback is 30 Cm longer and the storage space is bigger with 100 liters ending up having 415 liters. Skoda Rapid Spaceback is just as big as Skoda Fabia Combi but the Czechs didn’t announce that the Spaceback might replace the Fabia in a series model. Other technical equipment on Skoda Rapid Spaceback is the same as on Skoda Rapid but the list of prices will be presented this Autumn after the German Auto Show.
