Nurburgring test track is famous among car fanatics and racers. This is the place where the best and high-performance vehicles get tested. It’s also the best place to spot these cars and take shots of them running some hot laps. Just two days ago, the pre-production Audi R8 E-tron was the star of the well-known German race track. It was rather quiet though and this only made it difficult for photographers to hear the prototype. Some of them might have actually missed it just because of that. Even so, the first shots of R8 e-tron are now here, so we can enjoy them.
Being no longer a secret, Audi R8 e-tron is expected to hit the showrooms somewhere next year. It will come in a limited number of units, though. The pictures below show the difference between the standard R8 sports car and the future R8 e-tron.
The R8 e-tron caught testing at Nurburgring has no exhaust pipes and that’s because this vehicle is a zero-emissions model. The rear window that enables drivers to check out the V8 or V10 engines is covered up now since the engines are non-existent.
The hood of R8 e-tron features a hole for the cooling of the batteries. The car is a combination of an aggressive look, R8 coupe styling and an almost deceptively quiet noise (which is not surprising at all since the car has no exhaust pipes as already mentioned).
Check the pictures below and see for yourselves what Audi R8 e-tron looks like. Feel free to let us know what you think about it in the comments section below!
